Malignant Tumor of the Ear

The most common lesion affecting the temporal bone is squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) originating from the skin of the external auditory canal. It may be confined to this area, or it can extend inward through the eardrum and into the various recesses of the middle ear and the temporal bone. In addition to SCC, some lesions involve the outer ear and may extend to the bony portion of the external auditory canal and even the temporal bone.
