Posterior Fossa Tentorial Meningioma

Posterior Fossa Tentorial Meningioma

Tentorial meningiomas account for 2% to 3% of all intracranial meningiomas. The authors present their experience with 24 patients with tentorial meningiomas of the posterior fossa, and discuss the main characteristics which influence approaches and complicate different surgical techniques. We find that the careful preoperative choice of surgical approach should be based on tumor location and extension. It is then possible to achieve the best radical microsurgical tumor resection, avoiding further damage to neurovascular structures.
